Still feeling poorly from a heavy cold and flu over Christmas and under the weather decided as it was only 10k to still go and run and start off the year with a race. Alex and I and travelled to London on what was a pretty easy journey (unusual for London). Always a good turnout with some fast Londoners. It’s a loop and a half around Hyde Park and pretty much flat but does involve some sharp turns and running past clusters of runners on the second lap. I don’t mind the course just knew the legs didn’t have it and 10k with lots of miles and training for marathon and ultras make it hard. Finished in 3rd a little down on my time but still sub 37 and in 36:42 and still coughing up mucus (gross I know!). Alex had a better race although not a podium finish not far off his PB. So a solid run and trying not to be despondent and to remain positive.
