After a few days of no sleep preparing for a voluntary Race Director school for my son’s school, an early 5am start the day was going to be busy.
A successful school event of nearly 600 runners between the 5/10k and fun run we managed to have only a few minors to improve on. Not having long to celebrate I had to say a swift goodbye after lunch to head to Solihull for an area match to fill in a 3000m spot.
Much to my luck on a very hot afternoon, I managed to win the 3000m by over a full lap in 10.29.54. It wasn’t a PB but a solid performance for my first outing in my VAC vest. Sadly my Belles colleague Zoe was injured but would have been running the 800m.
