Walton Southern Athletics League (SAL) – 21st May 2016

A day out at the track for Alex and I, something although I train on once a week I haven’t really experienced much in my running career.  The day was very humid, and the track out in the sticks but a great opportunity to come and be part of the team.   I ran the 5000m and if honest legs still tried from a heavy race season.  With 18:03 to secure 1st place it was still a credible run to score some valuable points.  Joking about who was going to fill the Steeple Chase position with Helen, I ultimately realised that the points were so close that it was a case of dig in.  I always said no way as anyone that knows me will realise my lack of flexibility means my strides are short…  I continued therefore to pivot and army roll over the barriers and still ran decent time despite the wet conditions and diving into the water champ.. as they say #takeonefortheteam.
