Having not run well in Wokingham was using Reading as the back up race and intended to run with Alex now they had re-measured the course. Alex off insured and cross training I still wanted to run. I went into the race flat after Maidenhead 10 and what is always a busy time of year end of quarter, lots going on. I ran a comfortable race but found the new course actually harder through the university but relished not running past the stadium and back on yourself. Finished 4th British lady and 5th overall, in that time normally wouldn’t be that high up and one of my better finish positions. It was a little close to my marathon but like to race the weekend before. Run the time on very heavy miles in 79.21. The two opportunities of fast half marathons were over and now the focus was on Manchester marathon and the ultra 100 miler a few weeks later.
Time for an easy week before heading onto to the marathon ….
