Bucks XC – A windy day at Shuttleworth as it always is on an airfield and will be the first of 2 this weekend. A great race course but too short to get my legs warmed up and always a challenge with kids in tow and dogs !Without Mel and Lara the team for Bucks was massively weakened but committed and agreed I ran the race to finish 22nd out of 62 which I was pleased with considering I haven’t run any Cross country league races. We finished 9th overall as a team and believe if we had a stronger team we certainly would have been within the top 3 for a medal.
Andy Reading 10k -Made a nice warm up for Sunday’s race which was of the better conditions in a while and my 4th return to the race so no pressure ! Lovely local 10k Andy Reading in Chesterton which is always well organised by the local club. A relatively flat course but always gets you around the airfield where it it just blows a gale. My time of 36.18 felt easy and very comfortable with no negative impact to the gut or legs or even yesterdays 7k Cross country race. Its a shame I didn’t PB as my legs and body were in shape too, but will look to save for the big day in Barcelona.
