This was a lovely last minute weekend planned away with my best pal Jo who had a little early birthday present where we flew to Spain for the weekend with a cheeky marathon at the end of it.
The day started off badly with picking up race number and finding they didn’t have my name on it but Jo’s as much as its cool to run run in the name of my pal for 26 miles being called “Jo” wont make me run any faster”. Its okay we have a solution ” Please use this tape and manually add your name”.
Although it turned out to be a season best of 2.43.19 and not personal best mainly down to the heat which unbelievable to think was 23 degrees in November. Great course apart from the last 800m on cobbles on a never ending tight finish.
This course would have PB potential and one I would go back and run but with more preparation time, a long with learning how to get round Valencia easier, nothing was easily signed and no rush from anyone locally as they say in Spain “Manana !!”
