Marlow Half Marathon – November 3rd “victory for the 5th year!”

Marlow Half Marathon – It was like running an “Adventure Race”

What an interesting race this was, out of the 5 years there has been two significant years I remember  which was 2009 for a torrential down pour and then 2012 with flooding and water racing towards you.  It was a challenge to say the least just with the course intensity let alone knee deep ditches of cold ice water.  Regardless of the challenges still people came , ran and conquered.  I was hopeful of a PB to do sub 1.22 but with the extreme cold and wet conditions I ran a very comfortable race and even negotiated the water, hills and mud bath at the end to come in 11th with a time of 1.23.  this isn’t a half marathon PB but a fine performance on one of ” UK’s toughest” courses.  I am no doubt planning to return next year to win for the 6th time…
